I’ve gone, but I’ve not forgotten…
Hello everyone. Some of you have been kind enough to leave comments here about the site and asking specific questions about getting in touch with other Childerhouses. I’ve been really busy - full time job, young family and a start up business so I apologise for not getting in touch with any of you. I fully intend to once the silly season (the run up to Christmas) is done with. Hang in there.
Childerhouses of the world unite!
To say I’ve been inundated with mail from Childerhouses around the world would be an overstatement of major proportions but I have had a few (hello all) Which kind of got me thinking, how many of us are there and where are we? It’s not an exactly common name now is it?
There are a few of us here in Norfolk, UK - I know of two family lines locally - Mine, coming from the North Walsham/North Norfolk area and another hoard (in the nicest possible way) around Wymondham.
I’m not a genealogist by any means and discovering my family tree holds little attraction at the moment, I’m busy bringing up a family. However, if any of you other Childerhouses out there want to join in I’m happy to use this site as a base for whatever we like, blogging, storytelling, picture sharing - anything legal. Leave a comment or drop a email and I’ll create a user ID for you.
I’ll reserve the right to remove any/all facilities at any time as I see fit - I’m a fair man but I won’t tolerate any funny business. Just so we’re all on the same page, nuff said.

Not for long, and not without using me to get up, but, much to his (and my) surprise, there he stood, unaided. Okay, it was for less than 10 seconds but you’ve got to start somewhere eh?

Just playing with the coppermine plugin - took an hour to get it working, but it looks cool!
